Tonka Toys, a division of Tonka
Corporation, had been using the T and k connected logo for years.
The client and I agreed to continue its use for reasons of brand
recognition. I moved the registration mark and set the name in
acceptable typography in my own shop. A major problem was a mess
of conflicting devices with waves under the Tonka name -- to
signify that Tonka Toys was located on the shores of Lake Minnetonka
in Minnesota -- originally appearing in blue, then gold, and
eventually yellow.
Used as a business mark for
product and packaging, letterheads, business cards, invoices,
envelope corner cards and related collateral material.
